What is switch on ?
Waht is switch on ? Ernie: This is the fitting and initial tuning of the external processor by the Audiologist. It normally occurs 4/6 weeks after surgery. This period allows any swelling, which may have occurred ,to settle down and for the incision wound to heal. Tuning consists of adjusting the processor to give the best range of sounds that can be heard. This tuning or ‘mapping’ continues for about 6 months after which only infrequent tuning is usually necessary.
